Hello! Thanks to everyone for coming out to vote for the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association’s executive board!

My name is Kyle Palmer and I have some softball trivia for you!

How many perfect games did Rachele Fico, holder of the national record, pitch in High School?

The answer is 26. (Though the New York Times says 25…)

Which is, like, a totally crazy amount. Too, I don’t think most people in the audience would ever expect softball trivia from me. But sports participation runs in my family. I am the son of an athletic trainer and a physical education teacher. They began exposing me to the wide world of sports as I tagged along with my father to high school football games or attended basketball games my mother coached. Over time, and through varied exposure to competitive based games, I have learned that sports, as well as esports, require structure and support from their community to grow and thrive.

I have been an active CMSA member for over 10 years now and have played in CMSA’s Basketball, Ultimate, Football, Volleyball, and Dodgeball leagues.

However, most of my time with CMSA has been in the service of the only competitive-play oriented gay soccer league in the country. In addition to my work there, I have captained the Chicago Blaze, a soccer team which finished 9th, 2nd, and then 1st at the New York-based Whitmore Indoor Classic
